Briar (they/he) is an Australian born, now New York based cosplayer with almost a decade of experience. He primarily cosplays from anime but enjoys all things nerdy from comic books to tv shows and movies. Though not a competitive cosplayer, they enjoy making and editing cosplays to fit them and their own styles best. In the future, he hopes to improve his sewing and crafting skills to allow them to make more intricate cosplays and to run more panels at conventions on topics ranging from photography tutorials to identity in nerd spaces. Every project has been used as a way to build skills and, while sometimes frustrating, they have never lost passion to learn and build. Cosplay can be overwhelming at times, but he wants to give back and help those who want to cosplay just like those in the community did for them when they were a beginner cosplayer. They hope to be another voice in the cosplay community to show that cosplay is for everyone regardless of their identity or experience level.
