Flame Con Announces 2025 Dates, Tickets and New Flamies Celebrating the Trans Community

January 23, 2025

New York, New York – January 23, 2025 –  Flame Con, the world’s largest LGBTQ+ convention, created and produced by non-profit, Geeks OUT, returns to the Sheraton Hotel in Times Square on August 16-17, 2025. Last year celebrated 10 years of Flame Con, the convention welcomed nearly 300 queer-oriented vendors, an expanded third floor to the convention space and welcomed special guests such as Kris Anka (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), Sara Myer (Monstrous: A Transracial Adoption Story) and ND Stevenson (Nimona, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power). Geeks OUT is excited to host hundreds of creators celebrating queer joy.

“For more than a decade, Flame Con has been a space for LGBTQ creators and audiences to gather to share their stories, connect with community, and embrace the freedom to be their full selves,” said Nic Gitau, Geeks OUT President. “We are excited to host another year of the world’s largest LGBTQ+ pop culture and comics convention – where queer creativity, joy, and resistance will take center stage!”

Two new Flamies are joining the Flame Con Flamie family, created by Terry Blas (Reptil: Brink of Extinction). This year’s Flamies celebrate our transgender community and reinforce the importance of queer joy and activism. Flame Con is delighted to introduce to the world its 2025 Flamies, Trans Joy and Trans Activism.

“Flame Con means so much to me and so much to the community of friends and family who attend every year,” said Terry Blas. “It’s something I always look forward to because I know it’s a time and a place where I will be supported and celebrated for who I am and the art I bring into the world. And not every convention is like that.”

“Putting together Flame Con is a labor of love, and it only happens because of an amazing group of volunteers who want to bring queer geek joy to the world, something we especially need right now,” said Kevin Gilligan, Vice President of Geeks OUT.
